This exquisite handcrafted Mexican festival cloth doll from the 1940s is a true collector’s treasure. Designed for display and admiration, not for play. She must be handled with care due to her delicate, vintage nature.
Dressed in traditional festival garb, she radiates charm with her big, bright reddish-orange silk hair bows and intricate black braids, each 4 inches long. Her soft fabric hands and legs add to her delicate craftsmanship, while her beautifully crocheted bib and transparent lace-trimmed apron complement her stunning attire. She wears a flowing bell skirt adorned with mustard, green, and blue stripes at the hem, layered over a delicate petticoat. Her condition is excellent except for the 1/4" of slight fraying on her apron hem and below her bib at the waist.
Though time left her soiled, she was lovingly restored with two gentle baths to remove the accumulated dirt. Her clothing was also carefully hand-washed, squeezed, and air-dried to preserve its original charm.
This 13-inch-tall antique doll embodies the artistry of Mexican craftsmanship and is perfect for collectors, cultural enthusiasts, or anyone who appreciates a piece of history.
